Town & Chamber Announce Details, New Additions to 13th Annual Holiday Shop & Stroll

First Selectman Christine Vitale is pleased to invite the public to participate in Fairfield’s 13th Annual Holiday “Shop & Stroll” on Thursday, December 11.  The event is co-sponsored by the Town of Fairfield and the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce.

Participating shops along the Post Road in Fairfield will offer extended hours and an assortment of complimentary seasonal refreshments to shoppers.  Traveling carolers will fill the air with holiday cheer.

The evening will kick off with Happy Hour beginning at 5:00 p.m. at The Fairfield University Store Second Story, located at 1499 Post Road. There will be complimentary light bites, a cash bar, and a limited edition, free “Buy Local Fairfield” tote bag with goodies from local merchants, while supplies last. Please note that the Second Story is accessible via the main entrance or rear entrance to the Fairfield University Store. Attendees can then take the stairs or elevator to the Second Story. The 2nd floor entrance will also be available and accessible via the top floor of the parking garage, which is on Sherman Street.

This year, we are excited to partner once again with Fairfield University’s Alumni Association to help them collect new, unused teddy bears as a part of their annual Teddy Bears with Love Drive, now in its 27th year. Please consider bringing a teddy bear or stuffed animal to the Pre-Event Happy Hour; all collected items will be donated to children at local area hospitals.

This year’s event includes a special trolley courtesy of Kleban Properties that will be transporting shoppers along the Post Road, from the Brick Walk Promenade to Heritage Square!  Stops will include the Fairfield University Store, the Brick Walk Promenade, Heritage Square, and the SHU Community Theatre – be sure to look for the signs at trolley!

Featured retailers and participants as of press time include: Apricot Lane Boutique, Bailey Jaymes Boutique, Bluepoint Home, Boho Prep, Capri, Ciao Bella, Element 50, equalshuman, Fairfield University Store, Friends of the Fairfield Public Library, Henry C.
