Fairfield Arts Commissions Announces the Second Artistic Visions Challenge
Now Open to ALL AGES! Kick-Off Event December 4th!
The Fairfield Arts Commission invites all artists and aspiring artists to participate in its second annual Artistic Visions Challenge and to attend its kick-off event on Thursday, December 4th, at which details of the Challenge will be revealed.
The Artistic Visions Challenge is a town-wide juried art competition aimed at encouraging the creative community to collaborate and create art in new and unique ways. The competition is open to student artists ages 10-19 and adults (ages 20+) that either reside, work or attend school in Fairfield.
This year’s kick-off event will be held on Thursday, December 4th, from 5:30-7PM, in Fairfield Theatre Company’s gallery located at 70 Sanford Street. The theme of this year’s challenge will be revealed at the kick-off event, which will also feature refreshments, a short program, giveaways and more. Attendees will receive more details about this fun challenge, which will be followed by a brief Q & A session. For those interested in attending, please RSVP here.
“We continue to encourage the collaboration of young enthusiasts with the more experienced community in a project that requires critical thinking, originality, a little STEM, and a touch of mystery,” said Commissioner Sam Goldstein of the Fairfield Arts Commission, who conceived the Challenge. “This year’s challenge is designed to build an even deeper connection between our youth and art professionals, as well as build confidence and self-esteem.”
Eligibility and Entry Details:
Open to both student artists, ages 10-19, as well as adults (20+ years of age), who reside, work or attend school in Fairfield
Entries are divided into two age categories: student (ages 10-19) and adult, age 20+.
Participants under age 18 must have a parental or guardian co-sign as project supervisor to oversee and support the process.
Participants are encouraged to push their creative limits, whether through a unique technique or by a mash-up of traditional art forms to create something unique.
To enrich the creative process, participants will be required to attend one of the collaboration experiences to gain insights, network, and share inspirations. The Fairfield Arts Commission will be hosting several “Collaboration Events” to facilitate interactions with each age group, peers and mentors. Additional details will be announced soon.
