Meet Lou Heumann, board member at the Fairfield Theatre Company and the volunteer coordinator of the Make Music Fairfield Chapter.

Make Music Day is the free, outdoor music festival celebrated worldwide on the Summer Solstice each year, always June 21.

Created in Paris, France in 1982, Make Music Day, or “Fête de la Musique”, has grown to more than 2,000 cities, making it the globe’s largest music event. Make Music Day features music of all styles, and is open to anyone who wishes to participate. Performances take place in parks, sidewalks, town squares, beaches, front porches and parking lots. Each performance throughout the day is completely free and open to the public.  Everyone is invited to join the fun.

Lou has been an instrumental part of Make Music Day Fairfield for the last 8 years and it has become THE community event to kick-off the summer. Make Music Fairfield has grown year over year and is Connecticut’s largest chapter out of eighteen other towns and cities throughout the State.  

Since Make Music Fairfield’s inception, more than 100 venues and 350 performers have participated.
